SCHEHEREZADE

A magical retelling of Scheherazade, blending theatre and reimagined classical music into an enchanting performance.

Scheherazade, the cunning storyteller and central figure of One Thousand and One Nights, survives execution night after night by weaving tales so captivating that even a murderous sultan cannot bring himself to end her life. Her stories save not only herself but countless others.

This timeless tale inspired Russian composer Rimsky-Korsakov’s iconic orchestral suite Scheherazade. But in this performance, the perspective changes.

This is not the story you’ve heard before.

With original music composed by Jeanette Szeto and words by Rown Kudekha-Lark, this reimagining gives Scheherazade her own voice. No longer a pawn in someone else’s legend, she becomes the author of her fate.

A bold fusion of classical tradition and contemporary storytelling, this concert redefines what a live performance can be.
